TOHO Says Anime Kimi wa Kanata Film Project
TOHO announced on Tuesday that they were producing the original anime film titled "Kimi wa Kanata" (Your Are the Beyond) which will be airing this fall. The Film will be starring Honoka Matsumoto as Mio, and Toshiki Seto as Shin.
The teenage fantasy Film is set in the Ikebukuro district of Tokyo, and centers on two childhood friends named Mio and Shin. Mio has feelings for Shin, and always thinks about her, but can never tell her about her feelings. One day, they argue about something trivial, and sometimes afterward, Mio decides to be with her. When he came to Shin while drenched by rain, he suffered a traffic accident. When Mio regained consciousness, she found herself in a new and unfamiliar world.
Yoshinobu Sena (Neko Mo, director and author of Onda-Ke, the original concept of Vampire Holmes and lead voice actor) directed the film, wrote the script, and was also credited for the original concept. It is Sena's directorial debut with the anime film. Digital Network Animation produces animations. CUCURI is credited for project planning and development. Rabbit House and Elephant House will distribute the film, and Kadokawa will publish the original novel.
